Whole Person Health
The Center for Pain Management at Florida Hospital Fish Memorial presents pain management through an interdisciplinary and multimodal outpatient care
environment. The pain management program focuses on whole-person health,
blending the wellness of mind, body and spirit. We believe that true health is
achieved not only by treating the illness, but by addressing lifestyle, habits
and environmental factors that impact your health.
Your personalized pain management treatment plan begins with a complete
diagnostic assessment. This valuable resource is used to create an appropriate
wellness program that assists you in improving your quality of day-to-day
activities and self-management skills.
Personalized Treatment
Through a referral from your physician, a personalized care plan will be
developed using the comprehensive diagnostic assessment. We begin this
assessment by gathering as much data as possible about your pain, including
a medical history and lifestyle analysis.
We work with you, your family and our staff to set specific goals and time
frames for your care plan. Education at this point is important to help you
understand aspects of your pain and treatment plan. Depending on your
individual needs and goals, your program may include one or more of the
following:
- State-of-the-art Diagnostic Evaluation
- Intervention Techniques in Pain Management
- Anesthetic Nerve Blocks and Epidural Steroid Injection
- Physical or Occupational Therapy
- Lifestyle Management, including Stress Reduction and
Relaxation Techniques
- Pain Care Self-Management Training
- Health/Psychology Evaluation and Treatment
- Biofeedback (if needed)
- Laser Therapy for Herniated Disc
- Radio Frequency
- Vertebralplasty
- Lysis of Adhesions
At the conclusion of your treatment plan, education and instructions are
provided to assist you in improving your day-to-day functions and increasing
your independent self-management abilities.
