PHYSICIANS CELEBRATE & RECOGNIZE
FLORIDA HOSPITAL FISH MEMORIAL NURSES
ORANGE CITY, FLORIDA, May 1, 2007 - A gentle hand wrapping a bandage. A steadfast assistant in the operating room. A calming presence for a patient awaiting a diagnosis. Nurses take a variety of forms, but certain qualities hold true such as compassion, commitment and collaboration. The compassion to stop and really listen, the commitment to patient care and the collaboration among departments within the hospital are all ways that these professionals share the spirit of nursing.
Annually, National Nurses Week begins on May 6, marked as RN Recognition Day and ends on May 12, the birthday of Florence Nightingale, founder of nursing as a modern profession. During this week, nurses at FLORIDA HOSPITAL Fish Memorial in Orange City, FL will be honored by members of Medical Staff through a series of events and presentations. Medical Staff members will nominate an “Outstanding Healthcare Team Member of the Year” in addition to daily recognition programs and prize drawings specifically for our nurses. Three “Physician Choice” awards will be given.
FLORIDA HOSPITAL Fish Memorial is one of only 37 Hospitals in Florida to receive the HealthGrades Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence for two years in a row. This recognition places the hospital among the top five percent of all hospitals nationwide for overall clinical excellence, made only possible through the teamwork of caregivers who offer their selfless attention and compassion to each patient when needed most.
In honor of the tireless efforts of our nurses at FLORIDA HOSPITAL Fish Memorial, we take this time to recognize the invaluable services they provide seven days a week, 365 days a year and thank them for continuing to extend the healing ministry of Christ through skill and compassion.
