HABITAT FOR HUMANITY HOME DEDICATION

WHAT: Habitat for Humanity House Dedication Ceremony for a 1,200-square foot, 3-bedroom home in the Spring Hill district of DeLand.
WHO: This Habitat for Humanity home was built in partnership with:
·         Comfort Services Heating and A/C
·         DeLand Ministerial Association
·         DeLand Police Department
·         First Christian Church
·         FLORIDA HOSPITAL West Volusia Division
·         Rotary Club of Downtown DeLand
·         St. Peters Catholic Church
·         West Volusia Association of Realtors
Leaders from each group will be on site along with West Volusia Habitat for Humanity Executive Director Peter deVos. The blessing of the home will be led by FLORIDA HOSPITAL DeLand Director of Pastoral Care Services Chaplain Art Bakewell.                
WHEN:   Friday, May 12, 2006 at 10:00 a.m.
WHERE: 520 West Winnimesset Ave., DeLand, Fl.
WHY:  To help a family in West Volusia own a home through the efforts of Habitat for Humanity, a non-profit, Christian organization dedicated to the elimination of poverty housing throughout the world. Primarily through volunteer labor and donations, West Volusia Habitat for Humanity builds simple houses and sells them at cost, without interest, to qualified families in West Volusia County. House payments are used to help build additional homes.
